Introducing the ARCTURUS CUSTOM DUBBLE RIDERS JACKET from BOOTES.

This custom version is based on the standard ARCTURUS DUBBLE RIDERS JACKET, with the shoulder epaulettes and waist belt removed.

By eliminating these elements, the jacket retains the classic character of a double riders jacket while creating a cleaner and more streamlined appearance.

BOOTES, named after the constellation “Boötes,” was created with one clear purpose: to explore the full potential of cowhide leather.

Building on the extensive leather development experience behind FINE CREEK LEATHERS, BOOTES turns its attention from horsehide to cowhide, aiming to rediscover and redefine the appeal of steerhide in modern leather garments.

The ARCTURUS is inspired by an early version of a classic riders jacket from the 1960s.

The outer shell is made from carefully selected steerhide originally measuring over 3mm thick, split down to approximately 2.5mm for use in the finished garment.

The leather is full vegetable-tanned and finished using a sandwich-dyeing process with a brown core.

Even when new, the thick steerhide already shows rich grain and strong surface character. With continued wear, the leather develops deeper luster, pronounced creasing, and natural abrasion that gradually reveals the brown core beneath the black surface.

The result is a highly expressive patina that becomes unique to the individual wearer over time.

Considered a successor to the FINE CREEK LEATHERS “LEON” double riders jacket, the ARCTURUS features a slightly smaller collar shape compared with the LEON.

Round chain zipper pulls are used at the chest and waist, while steel hardware is used for details such as the snap buttons.

In this CUSTOM version, the epaulettes and waist belt have been removed, giving the jacket a simpler and sharper silhouette while preserving the powerful presence of the heavyweight steerhide.

Despite the substantial thickness of the leather, the jacket offers a surprisingly smooth wearing experience without restricting natural body movement.

The ARCTURUS CUSTOM combines the weight and character of heavy steerhide with a more minimal design, making it a jacket that becomes increasingly rewarding as the leather breaks in and ages.
