【FREEWHEELERS】"N-3 CIVILIAN DECK JACKET"

Introducing the “N-3 CIVILIAN DECK JACKET” from FREEWHEELERS.

This civilian-style deck jacket was created around the idea that such a garment might have existed during the transitional period between early deck zip jackets and the later N-1 deck jacket.

As a result, the design blends characteristics of both styles, retaining the atmosphere of early deck jackets while incorporating functional details that suggest the development toward the N-1.

The collar is designed with the N-1 in mind and can be worn standing up by using the throat strap.

The front features both a zipper and a protective storm flap, creating a double-layered closure that helps block cold air.

Patch pockets are positioned at both sides of the lower front.

The pocket openings are set at a slight angle for easier access and improved practicality.

The armholes and lower sleeves are cut with a moderate amount of room, while the inside of the cuffs is finished with inner ribbing.

The body length is also slightly longer than that of a typical deck zip jacket, and a drawcord is fitted inside the hem.

Like an N-1, the hem can be tightened to adjust the fit and help reduce wind entering from below.

The outer shell is made from FREEWHEELERS’ original cotton duck fabric.

Five different counts of slub yarn are combined into two-ply yarns and used in both the warp and weft, then woven at high density to create this original fabric.

The material has a dry hand and substantial feel, and repeated wear gradually brings out the irregular texture and tonal variation characteristic of slub yarn.

The lining is made from FREEWHEELERS’ original 100% alpaca pile.

A layer of flannel is placed between the cotton duck shell and the alpaca pile lining, creating a three-layer construction with excellent cold-weather protection.

The silhouette offers a little extra room through both the body and hem, making it easy to layer over heavier inner garments.

With its high level of wind resistance and insulation, it works well for everyday winter wear as well as situations where the wearer is exposed to wind, such as riding a motorcycle or bicycle.
