Introducing the “LEATHER GENTLE COAT,” the first leather item produced by Sugar&Co.
The jacket is made from 1.3mm-thick cowhide, chrome tanned to create a supple, full-bodied leather with a rich surface texture.
Despite its substantial thickness and unmistakable leather presence, the material has enough softness to follow the body naturally and feels relatively comfortable from the beginning.
With continued wear, the surface gradually develops a natural sheen, while creases and tonal variation deepen over time, making the aging process one of the main attractions of the jacket.
The design is based on Sugar&Co.’s signature “GENTLE COAT.”
It also draws inspiration from car coats of the 1990s, resulting in a relaxed silhouette with a comfortable amount of room throughout the body.
Many leather outerwear styles are rooted in motorcycle, workwear, or military traditions, but this piece takes a slightly different approach, focusing instead on a clean and refined appearance.
It can be worn naturally over shirts or knitwear, allowing the leather to remain understated and easy to incorporate into everyday styling.
The lining uses TORAY’s high-performance “SOLARSENSOR” material.
Carbon-based particles embedded within the fibers absorb sunlight and convert it into thermal energy to enhance warmth. The fabric also offers anti-static properties and breathability to help reduce moisture buildup inside the garment.
Natural leather, with its distinctive texture and aging characteristics, is combined with a modern functional lining.
Although this is Sugar&Co.’s first leather item, the design avoids unnecessary novelty and instead focuses on the brand’s characteristic silhouette and everyday wearability.
It retains the substantial feel expected from leather outerwear while maintaining a relaxed sense of refinement, resulting in a leather coat that can be worn naturally as part of an everyday wardrobe.

Body length is measured in a straight line from the center of the back neck seam to the hem. Chest width is measured straight across from underarm to underarm. Shoulder width is measured from shoulder seam to shoulder seam, and sleeve length is measured from the shoulder seam to the end of the cuff.
